The Board of Elders has officially completed the process of hiring Rev. Tim Fearer as our Transitional Pastor. Tim is an ECO-trained and certified Transitional Pastor. He has an M.Div. from Princeton Seminary and a Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Claremont. He last served as the Transitional Pastor for Glenkirk Church in Glendora, CA. Tim has previously served on staff of ECO as Director of Discipleship Ministry and comes highly recommended by top leaders in our denomination.
Tim easily meets the qualifications and characteristics the search team was looking for. He adheres to the tenets of Reformed Theology. His sermons are Biblically solid, and he has a very relatable preaching style. He has a natural ability to build relationships with people. He is committed to empowering people to use their gifts and skill sets to maximize their ability to serve God. He also has a heart for international ministry, having served for several years in Turkey.
Tim is single and he enjoys bicycling and CrossFit training. He also likes to write, and has authored numerous blog articles. You can read some of them on the ECO website.
He recently joined the elders and pastors in a succession and transition planning training session provided by Auxano, a church consulting firm that ECO is partnering with to equip local churches. This means he will be ready to hit the ground running when he starts his position as Transitional Pastor/Head of Staff at CCCM on April 1st. He will be preaching on April 7th, so be sure to join us at church that morning!
